Recently, the 4th National Urban Underground Comprehensive Pipe Gallery Technology Innovation Summit Forum and the 2021 China Engineering Construction Standardization Association Urban Underground Comprehensive Pipe Gallery Working Committee Annual Meeting were held in Xiongan New Area. The conference was hosted by the Urban Underground Comprehensive Pipe Gallery Working Committee of China Engineering Construction Standardization Association, Shanghai Municipal Engineering Design and Research Institute (Group) Co., Ltd., and Tongji University, and was co-organized by China Xiongan Group, CCCC Xiongan Regional Headquarters, and CCCC Second Public Works Bureau. Reporter: You said that the cost of one kilometer of underground pipe gallery is equivalent to that of one kilometer of high-speed rail, so planning must go first. Do you have any reminders or suggestions for Xiongan New Area, which is promoting large-scale construction, especially the construction and operation of underground comprehensive pipe corridors?
Wang Hengdong: The planning and construction of Xiongan New Area adhere to "world vision, international standards, Chinese characteristics, and high-level positioning", and it attracts a lot of attention. In the construction of underground comprehensive pipe gallery, planning should be put first. We must adhere to smart construction and green development, continue to explore and innovate, and apply new technologies in engineering construction as soon as possible, especially green construction, energy conservation and emission reduction, and full life cycle safety management and control technologies, which are very important. We often talk about "Xiong'an quality". Only by adhering to technological innovation can we minimize operation and management costs, avoid safety risks, and provide guarantee for high-quality development.
Reporter: How is green construction technology used in underground pipe gallery projects?
Wang Hengdong: For example, prefabricated assembly means that the pipe gallery components are prefabricated in the prefabricated factory and transported to the construction site, where they are assembled to form an overall construction method. Realizing factory-based construction and intelligent installation. Compared with conventional cast-in-place, construction is convenient and fast, which can effectively shorten the construction period, reduce labor costs, and improve the pouring quality of components. At the same time, the impact on the surrounding environment is reduced and "green construction" is achieved.
Reporter: Xiongan will be built into a model city that is “indescribable” and “aspirational” in the history of human urban development. What role does the underground comprehensive pipe gallery play in the entire urban construction?
Wang Hengdong: The importance of underground comprehensive pipe corridors to urban development is self-evident, which is mainly reflected in two aspects: First, the "road zipper" problem of repeated excavation of the ground can be significantly improved. Underground comprehensive pipe corridors are planned, constructed, operated and managed in a unified manner. All needs are considered and planned at one time, and they are laid internally as needed to avoid potential safety hazards such as road collapse and pipeline accidents caused by repeated excavation of the ground. The second is to gradually eliminate spider web-like overhead lines in main streets. There are fewer telephone poles and wires, and the ground landscape has improved significantly, bringing more convenience to citizens' lives.

Wang Hengdong: Today, Lai Jianping, deputy chief engineer of the Second Public Works Bureau of China Communications Construction Company, shared the "Research on the Complete Technology of Long-Segment Large-tonnage Overall Prefabricated Assembled Comprehensive Pipe Gallery". This technology is very powerful. Xiongan New Area has set a demonstration across the country and provided useful exploration for other cities.
