Uncertainty about accidents or losses during pipe jacking construction

The current pipe jacking construction methods are mainly earth pressure type and mud water pressure type. Future development will be based on further absorbing foreign technology and apply various forms of pipe jacking construction technologies such as pipe jacking type, bubble type, etc. With the further development of high-precision long-distance measurement technology, the improvement of ventilation systems, the progress of relay technology and grouting friction reduction technology, the development of slag discharge systems, cutterhead cutting systems, propulsion systems, excavation conveying systems, power supply hydraulic systems, monitoring systems, measurement guidance systems, and a series of technological breakthroughs, the existing one-time jacking distance will continue to be refreshed, and various complex curved pipe jacking will also appear one after another.

Currently, my country has established four trenchless technology research centers in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Wuhan. The number of members of my country's International Trenchless Technology Association has exceeded 100, ranking fourth in the world and first in Asia. A strong camp consisting of industry associations, scientific research units, research centers and equipment production and construction companies has formed, and every year many people continue to join the ranks of non-excavation work such as pipe jacking. my country's pipe jacking technology will surely usher in a new stage.

Pipe jacking construction is to set up working wells and receiving wells along the pipeline according to the design plan. Set up a backrest of sufficient strength in the working well, hoist in the tool head, hydraulic jack and the steel pipe or reinforced concrete pipe to be jacked up, connect lighting, mud pipes, oil pipes and other pipelines, and then slowly jack up with the hydraulic jack. A mud sleeve is formed around the pipe joint through the grouting system, and the pipe slides in the mud sleeve. During the jacking process, the direction of the jacked pipe is measured with a laser theodolite, and the deviation is corrected while the soil is being removed until the steel pipe or reinforced concrete pipe is jacked into the receiving well.

Some domestic risk management scholars believe that risk is the possibility of adverse consequences occurring within a specific period of time under given conditions. Safety risks in pipe jacking construction refer to the uncertainty of accidents or losses during pipe jacking construction.

The strata during pipe jacking construction generally pass through the silt layer, and decaying animals and plants will form toxic and harmful gas aggregates underground. If toxic and harmful gases are not detected during pipe jacking construction, and ventilation and other measures are not taken, construction workers are prone to poisoning accidents in such a working environment, endangering the health and lives of construction workers.
